merry-christmas

We are at that time of year where we are crazy with parties, tasks,  shopping,  plans. With so much movement  we may give ourselves little time to ponder the true meaning of Christmas, with so much consumerism it´s spoiled.

I love this time, I think it´s the most beautiful time of the year, I love seeing people I almost don´t see, hug and laugh with my loved ones, eating delicious food and being in a real festive atmosphere.

I think that more than all this which is nice, we also celebrate the birth of one of the greatest masters who were born on earth, Jesus, and although I am not religious, I think is worth celebrating because even after 2000 years his influence in the world remains vast, his teachings involve universal values and wise teachings.

It’s not about expensive gifts, or ostentatious celebrations. What is worthwhile is to love and enjoy your loved ones, surround yourself with those people who makes your heart swell with joy and make you feel at home.

I wish this «Christmas» feeling endure the rest of the year, and that we had the wisdom to live with that joy, love, peace and happiness every day, would it be too much to ask? I don´t think so, because at the end of the day living that way is a personal decision, it´s to have crystal clear how we want to feel at any time and with that awareness design each day, design our lives.

I know that not everything is sweet, we have bad days, days of discomfort, and such is life, we´re going to get out of sync, life happens and sometimes it seems that runs over us, but nevertheless we can decide to say: «OK, this makes me feel sad, it bothers me or make me feel guilty, but despite that, now I choose to feel good”. When we do that our perspective changes.  It´s not about not having challenges, it´s about how we feel about them and therefore  what we do with them.

Much is said about living here and now, but I think sometimes we do not have it very clear. My vision of living here and now is truly enjoy every moment, a bit like watching a movie but where you are the heroine, and you are aware of everything that happens and especially how you think, feel and act. Being aware that when you do not like what happens, there is a learning behind and if we do not learn it´s going to happen again, because life is a school that teaches its lessons that way, and It will continue the same lesson until you have learned it very well.

The years go by, the holidays are still exciting and fun, but the most important fact is that you feel happy not only during this time but every day of your life.

How can you do it?

 1)  Focus on the good about your life, be thankful every day  for what you have, but not only as the grocery list, but choose 4-5 reasons for which you are grateful for that particular thing. You begin to see with new eyes, with the eyes of the soul.

2)  When something you do not like happens, breathe deeply several times and humbly ask yourself what you have to learn from that situation, when you discover it is like a treasure, and it means that you have learned the lesson.

3)  Look for opportunities to hang out with friends and family all year round, it does not have to be a special day, just make of enjoying them often a part of your life, it just requires a little organization and desire.

With all my heart, I wish you a very Merry Christmas, that love, peace and happiness be with you.

 Live with Joy !!!
